Few lads at work used to have them, but I think once Sky release an update every 3 month or so it scrambles the boxes. They ended up spending more on dodgy boxes than on an actual sky account . Although I think it's luck of the draw as another lad i know has had his for 3 years problem free.
There is currently no chip/chipped card that will work with Sky, anyone that claims they can do it is lying. It is not possible with the new sky cards. There is a way to get pay-per-view free, but charges will build up on your account so when you do connect the phoneline again they will charge you. Had my box for a couple of years it runs through my sky dish and connects to my broadband card sharing i think you call it.I paid £200 for the box and 1 years subs and £100 a year there after and a no quibble after care .Get all sky and bt plus a load more channels Lot more reliable than kodi or android boxes.
Damn this chipped sky boxes sound good, I knew about the Virgin ones but didn't know you could do it with Sky. They haven't been around very long. I'd like to think it will drive the cost of sky down but they will probably just bump it up to compensate for the chipped boxes! I have a Sky HD box, and have escaped the evil clutches of SKy subscriptions I knwo you can use the box as a Freeview box without the card in it, but i am wondering if there's a way to enable it as a PVR without paying Sky the £10/month? Surely someone out there must have worked out how to - after all its just a PVR at the end of the day
